There are tons of different methods out there to use to market your real estate business, like the more traditional ways of door knocking and cold calling. For me, that just wasn’t going to work. Here are five reasons why I chose online marketing strategies for my real estate business – number 5 is the most important:
First, online marketing allows you to reach a wider audience. With social media platforms like Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram, you can target people in specific locations, interests, and demographics. And the best part? You can reach people from all over the world! Say goodbye to the limitations of traditional marketing methods. For example, a lot of my clients are relocation clients from the other side of the country – if I wasn’t using online marketing, I definitely would not have been able to reach those people.
Secondly, online marketing is cost-effective. No more spending a fortune on print, radio, or TV ads. With online marketing, you have the flexibility to set a budget and only spend what you can afford. And there are so many free or low-cost platforms available, like Youtube and email marketing. So, you can get more bang for your buck! Another example – with only 200 subscribers at the time on Youtube, I was able to get 4 clients in one week – 3 of them closed the same week, and one went on to close later that year. All of these were from free videos, all it cost me was time. Those same videos still work for me to this day.
Third, online marketing can help you build relationships with potential clients and current clients. By creating helpful content, you can position yourself as an authority in your industry. Plus, by using social media to engage with your audience, you can answer questions and build relationships with potential clients. You’ll establish trust and become their go-to agent. You can also easily stay connected to current clients and past clients – just interact with them like you would with any friend, and you’ll maintain that relationship.
Track Your Results
Fourth, by using online strategies, you can easily track your results. With tools like Google Analytics, you can see how many people are visiting your website, where they are coming from, and what they are doing on your site. This data can help you make better informed decisions about your marketing strategy – like if you need to adjust something, or maybe something is working really well, so you can increase your efforts there. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen a bus bench that was able to give you that information.
And finally, and most importantly, online marketing can help you leverage your time. You can automate certain tasks, like email marketing and social media scheduling, and focus on other important aspects of your business. This saves you time and makes you more productive and efficient. You can also work once, and have it keep working for you – like creating video content for youtube. For example, on my real estate youtube channel at the moment, in the past 28 days, I’ve had 517.6 hours in watch time, so if you divide that by 28 days, that equals 18.48 hours a day that people were watching my videos. There’s no possible way that I would be able to put that much time into any other prospecting activity. You can achieve more in less time and grow your business faster – or even better, spend time with your loved ones – that’s the most important reason of all.
In my opinion, you should definitely consider online marketing strategies. It’s not an overnight success type of thing, it’s a long term game, but it’s worth it. It’s cost-effective, reaches a wider audience, helps you build relationships, allows you to track your results, and lets you leverage your time.
